At consumer electronics shows, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, LG and Panasonic have all revealed a plethora of 3D televisions, home theater and Blu-ray systems for home use .

"I want to try it out," said Satoshi Miyazaki, 33, who pays about 2,000 Japanese yen a month to watch adult cable channels. He also said he needed something dramatic to justify replacing his old TV and that, "This could be the motivation."

Bloomberg.com reports that California-based researcher iSuppli Corp says, Worldwide shipments of 3-D TVs are expected to reach 4.2 million units this year and 12.9 million in 2011.

Panasonic became the first major TV maker to sell high-definition 3-D sets in the U.S. in March. Sony, the world's third-largest TV maker, plans to offer 3- D Bravia TVs in the U.S. and Europe later this summer.
